The White Shepherd Companion Dog
Regarded as an all-around working dog, the White German Shepherd dog is very obedient and responsive in nature. Like the ordinary German Shepherd Dogs they are also medium sized as well as muscular and well balanced. They usually enjoy doing any playful activities and can be curious at times.

Recent genetic studies revealed that the white color associated with the White German Shepherd dogs is completely unrelated to albinism. The white code in the genes is fundamental to the overall conformation of the dogs breed color. The risks of breed color paling or genetic health defects that breeders feared was never proven to be related with the white color.
These dogs share the same features with the ordinary German Shepherd dogs. What makes them unique is the remarkable white coat which is not normal as believed in the early discovery of the white breed. And definitely, the white color is not associated with albinism.
Studies revealed that the white code found in the genes of the White German Shepherd dog is a fundamental part of the entire conformation of its breed color. They also found out that it was never related to albinism or any other abnormalities. The white color is perfectly normal as opposed to what the breeders have feared.
The White Shepherd shares many common features with the ordinary German Shepherd dogs. The only difference is the white coat color which is unique among the breed. However, the white color is not associated with being an albino.
Aside from being active, these dogs also posses a very playful personality. Depending on the dog and the way it was raised, they can be very intelligent and are able to perform various tricks. Owners need not worry about training the White Shepherds since they are very respectful and can socialize with the outside world.
The very reason why White German Shepherds were not allowed to compete in dog shows before is due to its unique white color. They were mistakenly referred to as Albinos. But later, these dogs were recognized in America are now commonly known as the American-Canadian White Shepherd.
