Get Rid of Fleas Now
Fleas can be a nuisance to any person who dares cross their path. They breed quickly and they can easily disperse making it even harder to get rid of fleas. Regardless of the extent to which your home is invaded by fleas, it is still possible to get rid of fleas.
The first thing you should know if you want to get rid of fleas is to ensure that all areas where fleas might breed are all treated at the same time. It will be a waste of energy if you remove all the fleas from your dog, only to have it lie down on a flea-infested mat. The best thing is clean up all mats, carpets, pets and lawns to ensure that all fleas, under different stages of growth, are dealt with.
Establish a pattern of treating your pets regularly. It can be an extremely difficult task to get rid of fleas from your house with one blow. No matter how detailed your plan is, it is impossible to destroy the whole batch of fleas – some will always remain. Treat the areas repeatedly until all the fleas are done away with
Sprinkle your carpet with salt to help get rid of fleas. Salt works by dehydrating the fleas to death. For the salt to work well, let it stay on the carpet for a couple of days before you wipe it away. The advantage of salt is that it is quite cheap and much safer compared to commonly used powder. This is especially true if you have a crawling baby in the house who might go around licking anything he finds on the floor.
Prevention is better than cure. Never welcome fleas into your house in any way. Now that we know fleas do not grow on carpets and neither do they grow on fur, we need to know where they come from. For most people, fleas come into their homes through pets which go round and come back with fleas. Clean all areas where your pets visit to get rid of fleas.
Investigate the reason why fleas are in your home. If fleas consistently invade your home and you can’t tell where they are coming from, do more research and go beyond the obvious sources. For example, check out if the pets visit places that you do not know, see whether there are any rodents in the house, and check out if you are the one bringing them in. This is an important step if you want to get rid of fleas.
Rodents bring some of the fleas that reign terror in your house in. For you to get rid of these fleas, you must know how to get rid of the rodents in the first place. To achieve this goal, always keep your house clean because dirt is what brings in rodents. Again, you also need to seal all holes or cracks on the walls to prevent rodents from coming in.
Keep your lawns clean and get rid of fleas. Animals are not the only ones that bring in rodents to our houses. Sometimes, we too as humans bring them from our lawns. Fleas can jump on you as you lie down on your lawn and come and start a home in your house.
All in all, it requires patience for you to completely get rid of fleas from your home. You need to have a long-term view of things. The good thing is that once you form a pattern of taking care of your home and doing all to get rid of fleas, you will be surprised at how much you have accomplished.
